Printmaking in dialogue 2024

Letterpress | Intaglio | Planographic | Letterpress

Exhibition from 17 February to 1 May 2024

Opening on Friday, 16 February 2024, 6 pm

On 15 March 2018, the traditional artistic printing techniques of letterpress, intaglio, planographic, through-printing and their hybrid forms were added to the UNESCO Commission's World Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Since then, many events have been held on 15 March, Printmaking Day, in an attempt to show the general public how alive this cultural heritage is.

Through interactive, experimental collaboration between artists on one sheet, each using different traditional printing techniques, joint works are created as combination prints. Unique works of art resulting from the collaboration of several artists are otherwise only known from music and the performing arts. Engaging with this in the visual arts is a great challenge and thus a new discursive approach. The concept for the project series "Print Art in Dialogue" was developed by Viola Bendzko & Claudia Hartwig.

Artists:
Ameret, Jutta Barth, Monika Bartsch, Silke Bartsch, Viola Bendzko, Catherine Bourdon, Christoph Damm, Ute Faber, Wilfried Habrich, Claudia Hartwig, Margret Holz, Heehyun Jeong, Patrick Kaufmann, Jürgen Kellig, Klaus Kossak, Friederike Linssen, Gerd Logemann, Deborah S.
