VICTOR SONNA
Starting spring 2020, a large-scale project of artist Victor Sonna can be seen in the tower of the museum.Â
âThere are two sides to everythingâ, says the artist Victor Sonna, who grew up in Cameroon and is now living in Eindhoven. This is also expressed in his installation of 152 free-hanging tapestries â Gobelins â in the tower space of the museum. The pieces are based on 17th-century European tapestries featuring âidyllicâ scenes. Sonna transformed these tapestries into three series of poignant artworks. By leaving parts of the original images visible, the artworks are also two-sided in a figurative sense.
The museum will continue online to present artists, artworks and ideas. The museum collection of over 2.800 works of art can be viewed online.
