This year's IX International Sculpture Forum took place on the opening weekend of our first sculpture network members' exhibition where over 150 sculptures and installations by 30 members from 10 countries are on show until 6th of November.

More than seventy international artists, collectors, curators and friends of the arts participated in the IX. International Sculpture Forum in Grugliasco, Turin.
They all met the day after the opening of the exhibition in Grugliasco to discuss the topic "European Sculpture: Difference & Diversity in Practice".
The first lecture was given by the sculptor and accademy professor Auke de Vries (NL) about "Scale. A story about scale". Second was Miranda MacPhail (USA) from the Gori Collection in Pistoia (IT), who presented different art collections and their approaches and understanding of art patronage.

In the afternoon the main focus was put on the exhibiting artists and their work. Each artist had the opportunitiy to present his/ her work in a 10-minute talk in the exhibition or in the conference room with a slide show. The participants gained very interesting insights and had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and discuss directly with the artists their work.

Before, after and during the Forum we had the SHOWROOM where all participants could present their works either digitally or with catalogues. In the evening there was time to continue networking, to converse and to exchange thoughts.
Also on the second day of the meeting - our touring day - when we visited Fondazione Merz, the International Sculpture Biennale of Racconigi and Italian's most important contemporary art museum at the fascinating Castello di Rivoli exchange of ideas and conversation continued. Even in the hotels the participants were networking until late at night, making plans for 2011, as well as planning meetings in the different regions of the countries.
Looking back it was a very successful three-day meeting which inspired members as well as guests in their work, initiated projects and was also the basis for one or the other opportunity for sale of art works.
