BAMBOE BIBBER BOS
I have set up a room in the Groninger Museum on the occasion of the Kinder Biennale with several thousand bamboo sticks criss-crossed together.
There is a labyrinth through this stick forest that you can wander through. There are also vibrating sticks in the forest.
These will vibrate as soon as you touch them. It will be a real experience to wander through the forest.
Light and shadow, vibrating sound and silence, alternate.
The deeper you go into the forest, the more intense the vibration track will be and the more intense the experience and the amazement.
The Kinder Biennale is about experience and wonder. If you come into a strange, unusual environment you can be surprised. Your senses are stimulated and you are challenged to interaction, participation.
I have tried to create a 'fairytale' environment with bamboo sticks that is alienating and stimulating.
I also hope that the installation itself will challenge and make you curious and that children and adults will go on a journey of discovery themselves.
