Kunsthalle Arbon
In the immediate vicinity of Lake Constance and away from the large urban centers, the Kunsthalle Arbon offers an incomparable space for artistic experiments. Since 1993 we have been presenting contemporary art in the former halls of the metal goods manufacturer Schadler. The characteristic skylight hall with its approximately 500 square meter exhibition area gives our program its direction: As a rule, we show individual positions, who work in a spatially oriented manner and who develop a site-specific installation concept when dealing with our old industrial building.
With this curatorial focus, the Arbon art gallery plays a singular role among the exhibition rooms in Switzerland. At the same time, it makes an important contribution to the cultural landscape in the canton of Thurgau.
The relationship to the region is also important in the selection of artistic positions, whereby we we weave the local with the national and sometimes also with the international art scene. It is not uncommon for young, up-and-coming positions to receive the first major solo exhibitions from us. They take turns in the program with established artists, from whom the charm of our hall sometimes elicits new top performances. The Kunsthalle Arbon offers the art-interested audience, experts and spontaneous visitors: varied and inspiring exhibition experiences.
Organized as an association, the Kunsthalle Arbon is financially supported by the city of Arbon and the canton of Thurgau. Admission to the Kunsthalle is free of charge.
