Pirna Sculpture Summer 2025 - Resonance

Figures - Installations - Interventions

The Pirna Sculpture Summer starts its twelfth year in May with figures, installations and interventions. In 2025, the exhibition curated by Pirna's culture award winner Christiane Stoebe will be held under the motto ‘Resonance’. From 11 May to 5 October 2025, the renowned show can once again be experienced in the bastions of Sonnenstein Fortress, complemented by a suitable accompanying programme with special guided tours.

The new exhibition of fine art from Germany and the Czech Republic aims to touch visitors in a special way and thus create a deep inner resonance. Resonance is the resonance or resonance of one body with another, reacting to each other, relating to each other and influencing each other. The interplay between the figures, installations and interventions in the fortifications is intended to stimulate reflection and make the unconscious resonate. The unique architecture of the bastions creates an atmospheric space for this.

The positions of works by well-known sculptors such as Jan Hendrych from the Czech Republic and Waldemar Grzimek from Germany correspond with the works of young artists from both countries. In this way, visitors will be able to find echoes of their own feelings and experience unconscious emotional aspects.

The Pirna Sculpture Summer 2025 is also kindly supported by the OstsĂ€chsische Sparkasse Dresden and the Kulturraum Meißen - SĂ€chsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge and is open Wednesdays to Sundays and public holidays from 1 to 5 pm. We recommend travelling by train or public transport. A catalogue has been published to accompany the exhibition.
