Nature – Myth – Abstraction

The 70 works chosen from the Hubert Looser Collection are an outstanding addition to the Kunsthaus Zürich. Of the three fundamental elements making up the long-term loan – Abstract Expressionism, Arte Povera and Minimal Art – the second presentation highlights the Arte Povera art movement. Giuseppe Penone, one of its most significant figures, is celebrated with key works such as the installation Respirare l’ombra (2005). This piece, made of fragrant laurel leaves, creates an immersive, multi-sensory experience and invites a deeper exploration of materials and nature. Penone’s works are complemented by those of related artists, including Mario Merz and Lucio Fontana.
