Chiharu Shiota,Silent Word
Japanese-born artist Chiharu Shiota has lived in Berlin since the late 1990s. In her art she deals with universal themes such as life and death, home and fear. Â She has designed one of her fascinating installations made of black threads especially for the former high-bay warehouse of the SCHAUWERK. In the center of the room are a chair and a secretary, covered with letters that float on threads to the ceiling and seem to develop a life of their own. The letters expand like a universe of thoughts and emotions, but no one can hear them: This is the subtitle of the presentation "Silent Word".
The exhibition is complemented by objects, a canvas work and drawings.
