The installation Nature / Civilization II reflects on the relationship between nature and technology. Digital, virtual reality is an illusory reality of pixels on a screen, created by artificial intelligence that performs many functions for us. On one side, the reality that we experience directly, with all its textures, materiality or spatiality; on the other, the digital reality on the screen, which can be "corrected" and loses its tangible, haptic aspect. Another motif of this installation is the different worlds of man and animal fighting for space. At the centre of the installation is a fragment of a natural birch tree trunk, to which three different objects are connected by umbilical cords (or from which they seem to grow), revealing different aspects of the interface between nature and technology.. |
