I am the Freedom ?

One project, more than 100 artists, 20 countries, one book

In an age in which the global achievements of free speech and of selfdetermination are being constrained on multiple levels, it is important to take a position. This book is not only a documentation of the socio-political international art project Pillars of Freedom, but also an incentive to seek dialogue, to which you are invited by more than one hundred artists from twenty countries.
The project fathered one hundred and twelve memorials for active commitment to living in freedom. Each of these memorials embodies an individual approach to how a free, self-determined life can function within a societal context. "I AM THE FREEDOM?" is an active contribution to the social discussion. So as we may live peacefully together in our digital age, on our globalised planet, the goal is to incorporate Liberty, Tolerance and Respect as inalienable virtues into the minds of the people.

Our opinion:

The project "Pillars of Freedom" appeals to all of us to pause and to realize what freedom means to us. With over 100 works by artists from 20 countries, the project and the illustrated book present many individual interpretations of the concept of freedom and thus invite dialogue. Definitely worth a look!
