THE RIVER
THAT BECOMES THE PILLAR OF THE EARTH
The starting point is an oversized rescue shirt made of emergency blankets,
created in 2022 in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The work is dedicated to those
who, in war and flight,
count not the days,
but the seconds.
From many rescue shirts,
a continuous river of human events emerged.
Within the exhibition context “High Stacking,”
this horizontal flow is raised upright.
The river becomes a pillar.
History condenses into a supporting form.
Layer by layer,
the tragedy of human history becomes visible.
