Will Carr's newest kinetic wind sculpture — 3.4 metres of shimmering stainless steel with a moveable lower section that responds to even the lightest breeze with calming, nature-inspired motion.
Serendipity is the result of several years of concurrent formal and mechanical development — a convergence of material research, workshop experimentation and sculptural enquiry. The independently pivoting lower section introduces a secondary movement rhythm, creating a work that operates on two registers simultaneously: structural precision above, organic improvisation below.

Serendipity is structurally engineered to meet the most demanding international wind loading standards as a baseline, with all calculations adapted to the specific conditions of each installation site. The independently pivoting lower section is counterbalanced and bearing-mounted to ensure smooth, low-resistance movement in winds from approximately 3–4 mph upwards. No maintenance is required on any mechanical component.
