Ripples

It took Will Carr two years of patient iteration before Ripples would move the way he needed — in barely a breath of wind. The patience is embedded in the result: a sculpture that seems perpetually alive, its subtle forms catching light as readily as they catch air.

Each sculpture is the product of iteration and reiteration and evolve from years of workshop experimentation and pushing boundaries to produce timeless, low maintenance structures that gently respond to their environment and conditions.

It only takes a whisper of wind. Ripples — two years in development to achieve movement in the gentlest conditions. Available in shiny stainless steel or earthy Corten, in sizes to suit the compact or larger open space requirements.

From the engineering perspective, all of Carr's sculpture need to meet the most demanding international wind loading requirements and recalculated for the specific site conditions of every installation worldwide. The bearing system is optimised for low-threshold activation — movement begins at approximately 3–4 mph — without compromising structural integrity in high-wind events. Wind loading specifications are adjusted per size variant and per location as standard.
