Hans Heinze
I am a seeker and devote a large part of my life to wonder. I seek out beauty, ugliness and extraordinary scenes so that I can marvel at them and draw emotion and inspiration from them.
I curiously search for treasures: Emotion, beauty, curiosity, ugliness, the special in everything - in buildings, interiors, art and people themselves. This is my inspiration from which I follow my vision: an integrative total work of art in the interplay of art, architecture, nature and design.
As a managing director and lead designer of a design consultancy, I have been designing and planning contemporary residential buildings, public buildings and headquarters of innovative companies in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other countries for almost 30 years. I design the interior and exterior of the buildings in their entirety myself: the landscape, the visual axes, the light and the interior in terms of materials and surfaces.
In my artistic work, I am interested in creating sculptural forms that go beyond pure aesthetics. Feeling the coolness of the not yet dried clay, feeling the contours and textures and later touching the fine surface of the bronze makes my sculptures not only a visual but also a physical experience.
I want to stimulate the senses and create artefacts that possess intelligence paired with visual and haptic quality in their creation.
My bronzes assert a presence, integrated into architecture, interiors and surroundings. They arise from curiosity, from the desire for formal clarity and from the need to create objects that will endure beyond their time.
