STATEMENT
Since 2012 I have been working increasingly in the direction of object, textile, ceramic and large-scale installation art.
Thematically, I concentrate in particular on the question of what contribution my artistic work can make to environmental issues.
Therefor I developed large textile and capsule art installations. The inclusion of as many senses as possible and the aspect of visitor participation are becoming increasingly important.
My first big installation was the 15 m long „Goldboat, Noah´s Ark for flowers“ in the Rheinau-haven of Cologne.
The second installation was “Noah's Ark rescue nests of the 21st century”, set up in the Kunsthaus Dreho, (https://youtu.be/S_A2AgBfbHA), in the City Church in Mönchengladbach (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLazldErUtU) and in the Historical Cathedral of St Marys in Auckland, NZ
In my third bigscale installation “Feast of the Sense in a Black Magic Cube” the visitor was invited to enter in a magical world of floating crocheted butterflies in which he can proactively participate with his own sounds, thanks to a “polyphonic whale”, with the scent of grass and with changing light colors. Actually I built up the „walk-in magical golden coffee capsule with capsule forest“. Base: Metall and wood construction 400x400x300cm/ Outside: original emergency blankets/ Inside: black fabric/ Art exhibition inside: 5 magically illuminated capsule trees, embedded in the scent of coffee, forest sounds and the quiet rustling of the capsules. It is an invitation to a festival of the senses, but also an invitation to reflect: could these shiny indestructible capsule trees BE the solution to our environmental problems, especially our forests, or...???
Parallel to my art work, I have been running my "Kunsthaus Dreho" in the small listed medieval Liedberg for 13 years, the last 6 years with international shows.
