1. December - 1. Door of the Advent calendar

It's the 1st of December, so the first door of our Advent calendar may be opened on this Sunday in Advent.
Many great submissions have reached us and you can look forward to many inspiring works of art in the coming weeks.

On the Advent Sundays we want to share Christmas and Advent traditions of our editorial staff with you. To get you and us in the mood for the sweet days, we will start with a favourite recipe:

Christmas Muffins with Punch and Apple Sauce

125 gr. butter or margarine
100 gr. raw cane sugar
150 gr. apple sauce
250 gr. flour
1 pk. baking powder
100 gr. ground almonds
100 ml fruit punch
cinnamon

Whisk butter, sugar, apple sauce and cinnamon together. Mix the almonds, flour and baking powder and gradually mix with the butter mixture and the punch until you have a smooth batter. Fill into muffin cases and bake in the oven at 180° C for approx. 30 minutes.
