'Athletes' - it is a completely new cycle, realized in a new modeling dynamic expression with elongated body proportions. Using the modern means in present sports disciplines the artist wants to refer back to the championships of the ancient Olympiads, the classical heroes. To eventually get close to the anatomy of failure. To the bar that was set too high. Of course, sculptures can be interpreted differently - in discussions about them, there were analogies to the fast pace of life, but also direct references to sports rivalry, struggle with the body and its capabilities. The cycle will ultimately consist of six sculptures. Four are finished, the other two are still in the creation process. The works have not been exposed so far (apart from 'An Athlete III' that is displayed in the Sculpture Park Art-St-Urban in Switzerland).
