Representing the State of Bavaria, the Staatliches Hochbauamt Ingolstadt is organizing a restricted design competition with a preliminary open application procedure. The contest is open to professional artists and artist groups who are citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) at the time of application.

Deadline for applications: 20.01.2025, 12 noon. Submit applications via email at eichst@kunstundbauen.online and include the keywords "Application BEPO EI - Art in Architecture" in the subject line.

A new service building is being constructed as part of the general refurbishment of the II Riot Police Department in Eichstätt. With around the clock service, the cafeteria is planned to serve 900 to 1000 lunches in three shifts and include catering operations. As many officers in training also live on the premises, the new building is intended as a focal point for the entire facility. In addition to fulfilling functional requirements, it will also serve as a place for communication and interaction – even during off-duty hours.

The aim of the contest for art in architecture is to commission an artistic design for defined areas of the outside of the building. This can be one or more works of art. For more information on the application procedure and competition documents, visit www.stbain.bayern.de

The application process asks for strong examples of artistic work. No expenses will be paid during the application phase. Eight artists will be selected in the preliminary round to take part in the realisation competition and will receive an allowance of €3,000 for their contributions.

A total gross amount of €170,000 is available for the realisation.
