Birke Gorm: terms and conditions

Birke Gorm's artistic work is characterised by an intensive examination of materials, work and social structures. She uses simple, often rustic materials such as jute fibres, raw wood and stones for her sculptures and installations. Gorm integrates found, weathered and shiny metal remnants - discarded objects and remnants from consumer and industrial society, such as old nails, chains, can tops, metal sheets and screws - into her repertoire of materials. Collecting material is a fundamental and continuous activity in Birke Gorm's artistic practice. She also draws on her specific pool of materials for her installation ‘terms and conditions’ in the MQ Art Box.
