Details about the project

The One Medlock Street site in Manchester is a mixed use development providing new workspace and student accommodation. The site is bounded by River Street to the north, Medlock Street to the east, the River Street student scheme to the west and the Mancunian Way to the south.

Brief

The artwork will be fully integrated with the design language of the development and is specified as a pre-cast concrete relief wall. With a fabricator for the panels already in place, this is purely a research, concept development and artwork creation/design process for the artist.

Budget

The primary role of the artist is to research, develop and create an artwork or design, which can then be produced by the fabricator. There will be an element of sample supervision and collaboration with the fabricator. The design can be produced either digital or can be hand drawn and then translated into a digital format. As primarily a ‘design’ role, we are offering this opportunity with a fee range of £15,000 – £30,000.
