From Boky’s Figurative Poetry Collection, this bronze was directly inspired by a poem entitled Mea Culpa taken from Paul Géraldy’s book Toi et Moi.  It has been a source of inspiration for Boky for many years.  While studying in Florence, she found an old, dilapidated copy of the book in a basement.  It inspired a series of paintings, as well as, a series of photos entitled Le Roi est Mort.
Â
The sculpture exists in two editions, one has the excerpt of GĂ©raldy’s poem in the interior of the female figure, while the other edition does not.  Â
They are either gold leafed or platinum leafed. Â

Mea Culpa: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Au fond, vois-tu, mon erreur,Â
ma grande folie
c'est d'avoir chargé ton cœur
de tout le poids ma vie
Â
Which translates to:
In the end, you see my error,
My greatest folly
Is to have charged your heart
With all the weight of my life
