Vienna Art Week 2019: Making Truth

The popular Open Studio Day will be extended in honor of the art festival’s 15th anniversary. Starting for the first time on Friday, VIENNA ART WEEK will use the weekend (16 – 17 November) to shed even more light on artmaking in the city: the two-day Open Studio Days are a unique opportunity to see and listen to Vienna’s artists in their own workspaces when some 140 artists open their studios to the public as part of the program. VIENNA ART WEEK always boasts a varied program, and this year is no exception. Program highlights for 2019 range from exhibitions and discussions to tours and guided exhibition walks to the MAKING TRUTH line-up with its distinguished guests. Another novelty is that the line-up will be held in two parts: the Open Studio Days, which focus on artists based in Vienna, will conclude with an Open Studio Days Line-up on Sunday, 17 November. The second part will take place on Friday, 22 November, when lectures, discussions and screenings will explore the MAKING TRUTH theme both artistically and from a scholarly perspective.
