About:
The old stonewall is breaking open around the window. Like a skin it seems to peel off to reveal a part of rather new facade, which could belong to an ordinary modern house. Or is the old facade overgrowing and swallowing the new one? The situation suggests an ongoing process, which can be continued in both directions by imagination. It refers to the levels of time as they appear in our constructions: the old has to give way to the
new, but what is the new today will be old tomorrow.
The house, which is a frequent issue in my work, is also a synonym for the body. In this reading the walls appear like a skin: fragile and vulnerable, but provided with vegetative power to heal.
