Olaf Brzeski. Feast
The Gerhard-Marcks-Haus presents the first solo exhibition in Germany by sculptor, draughtsman and filmmaker Olaf Brzeski (b. 1975). The artist uses the different media to tell stories – about his life, his fears, his dreams and visions. With remarkable ease, he weaves in popular culture, obscure Tibetan myths and private thoughts. Brzeski employs different modes and techniques, each time probing them afresh, his work at times massive, at times delicate, almost sketching in space. Another habit is to vary the scale of his works, so visitors can look forward to a wide array of visual experiences. The exhibition title “Feast” works as both a noun and a verb, and encompasses all the aspects of importance to the artist. Feasting the eyes, welcoming guests, delighting the senses, celebrating, laying on a banquet, indulging in pleasure. In short, a multifaceted visual feast.
Olaf Brzeski lives and works in Wrocław.
