Inspiration: I picked up pebbles from my field and used them as true-to-scale model.
Medium: Glass, free blown and hot shaped. Surface sculpted, then polished.
"The inner layer is a composition of selected color-rods, which is covered with multiple layers of opaque glass in lemon-yellow.
After the cooling phase I chisel openings in the outer lemon-yellow layers so as to offer an insight into the underlying striped glass layers. This way the inner, hidden nature of the form is revealed."
THE MEMORY OF THE PEBBLES
In order to understand a landscape, you need to walk through it. Pictures of landscapes are constructs, integrative acts of perception.
… and any form of perception involves language: speech acts, stones that speak, like the pebble in her coat pocket. Sometime later, the realization dawns that stones not only have a cosmogenesis, but also a homogenesis. That’s the moment whan a stone can start to speak and becomes symolic. Or you can invent metapors. The life of a stone, if you so wish, somehow resembles the individual in the way he/she develops and wanders through life. Cit. Peter Niedermair in Eva Moosbrugger - PURE
