Katharine Dowson
Katharine Dowson studied Sculpture at the Royal College of Art and won a scholarship. She has exhibited worldwide. Dowson’s inspiration comes from nature, and the scientific world. Her sculptures are made in various media but especially transparent materials and glass, which she uses as a metaphor for a membrane, a fragile yet robust skin that allows light to pass through and reveal the hidden interior.
Her work is represented in various Museums and Collections, including The Wellcome Collection, Arts Council England Gift of Charles Saatchi, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and recently University Collage London.
