Katrin Wegemann

My artistic work takes place in sculpture and performance, spanning the spectrum between static sculptures and kinetic spatial installations. Time, material, space, and movement are fundamental elements of my process-oriented work. They all await transformation—whether intrinsic to the piece through the passage of time or externally induced by human and mechanical agents. Even seemingly static objects, such as my ceramics, can evoke a sense of metamorphosis when viewed as a series. My artistic research consistently focuses on the fleeting and the ephemeral, and on the question of how to capture them.
