Kunstsmullen

From 2023, Kunstsmullen will be a biennial event in the municipality of Heeze-Leende that will bring visitors of all ages into contact with various forms of art and culture in an accessible way for a few weeks. This year, Kunstsmullen will take place from 29 September to 27 October. The main programme offers visual art by renowned artists at three anchor locations: Landgoed Kapellerput/Natuurbegraafplaats Schoorsveld, Boschhoven (Leende) and Kloostervelden (Sterksel). In addition, there is the parallel programme with a wide variety of other art forms in all cores of the municipality.

Heeze-Leende, a municipality consisting of four cores, each with its own identity, surrounded by vast nature, was already visited by painters in the previous century to paint the beautiful sky of the Strabrechtse heath, as well as the simple farm life and village views. There was a flourishing artist colony. Kunstsmullen wants to keep these thoughts alive, because we believe that art is important for the well-being of all of us and can be a social factor in our community.

Based on this vision, Kunstsmullen is a biennial municipality-wide event that consists of high-quality professional visual arts routes. A broad additional program takes place around this with various forms of art expression, by and for the entire municipality of Heeze-Leende. The common thread of the entire event is 'landscape'. Each edition we specify this theme further.
