DUO exhibition by Fleur van den Berg and Zerrou Art
Leiden-based artist Fleur van den Berg studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the Royal Academy of Art. In her work she wonders what it is like to be human. In doing so, her attention is drawn to the transitions that come with life. What happens between standing still and surrendering, loneliness and connection, being stuck and breaking free, fear and love?
The Leiden brothers and artists Khalid and Rachid Zerrou both studied at the Dutch Fotovakschool. They developed themselves into 3D paper artists. In their work they let their Arab heritage merge with the tighter aesthetics of the Western world in which they were grew up in. By connecting the style of Islamic mosaics with minimalist influences, they create a bridge between cultures and times.
