My Bubble Flowers sculpture was inspired by flowers that the Miaoli region in Taiwan is famous for - chrysanthemum, and the other thing it is famous for - technology. Inspired by the traditions of the Tongluo region and its famous chrysanthemum flowers, the I created this large, stainless steel sculpture in an organic abstraction style by meticulously analyzing the forms found in nature. I re-shaped them using cutting-edge materials and systems, and transposed from the original micro, to macro scale. The LED lighting system breathes life into the metal every evening, letting it undergo a spectacular metamorphosis in a spectacle of colorful lights. Bubble Flowers were installed right by the entrance to Tongluo Science Park, where technology of the future is being made every day. It greets people working there every morning and waves them goodbye every evening. I hope it makes the place interesting and speaks to local people in the language of symbols that are their own.
