Call for applications 2025 / ÉCHO. Street & Land Art in Velay

Following the success of the first two editions of the ÉCHO. Street & Land Art en Velay event,  the Pays d'art et d'histoire de l'Agglomération du Puy-en-Velay is renewing the event in 2025 on 6 new sites. This call for applications concerns the creation of 6 ephemeral works of art spread across the territory of the Agglomeration du Puy-en-Velay. It will echo the event exhibition at the Crozatier museum.
THIS 3RD EDITION WILL HAVE THE THEME ARCHIPELAGO(S) from June 14 to September 28, 2025
ARCHIPELAGO(S) – ISLAND(S) – ISLET(S)
The notion of archipelago(s) appears as multiple, both literally and figuratively. It integrates the landscape and enters into direct interaction with the visitor, leaving the field open to the interpretations and representations of the artists. The installations lend themselves to the exploration of this subject, opening new perspectives on the surrounding world and reinventing space, a water absent from all the sites to be created, invented, suggested…

  • Objective: Create 6 ephemeral art installations across the AgglomĂ©ration du Puy-en-Velay
    ​
  • Goals:
    • Animate and enhance the territory and its heritage
    • Address all audiences and generations
    • Offer a new perspective on cultural/natural heritage and contemporary art
    • Interact and dialogue with the artwork and its environment
    • Promote responsible, sustainable, and kind practices
    • Echo temporary exhibitions and/or collections of the Crozatier Museum

  • Locations: Pre-determined by the Service Patrimoine based on landscape, environmental diversity, and accessibility
    ​
  • Eligibility:
    • Professional artists (SIRET number), registered with the Maison des artistes
    • Graduates in landscape, architecture, plastic arts, or design
    • Final-year students in relevant schools
    • Individual or collective applications in French or English

  • Exclusions: Jury members
    ​
  • Selection: By a qualified jury, focusing on landscape integration, environmental respect, and visitor interaction
    ​
  • Budget: 5,000 euros per artwork (3,500 euros for production, 1,500 euros for fees)

Le Plain / Saint-Privat d’Allier: Historical site on the Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle route.​

Chier Blanc du Suc de Jalore / Rosières: Volcanic stone chaos with remarkable trees.

Mont Baury / Allègre: Volcanic site with historical ruins and panoramic views.

Mont Gerbizon / Mézères: Volcanic summit with geological interest and exceptional views.
