CALL FOR APPLICATIONS LINDRE-BASSE RESIDENCE 2024-2025

From Thursday 11 April to Sunday 19 May 2024

Download the 2024-2025 call for applications

The contemporary art center - the Delme synagogue manages, in close collaboration with the municipality of Lindre-Basse and the Lorraine Regional Natural Park, a program of artist residencies, in the former presbytery of Lindre-Basse, specially redeveloped in workshop-housing.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The artists are selected on file and project.
The call for applications is aimed at artists who have completed their training for  at least 2 years.  Only artists with  legal structure  and/or using a legal entity to support their activity will be able to apply.

Artists are invited to formulate their research project by motivating the interest of a residency in the context of Lindre-Basse for the realization of it. Thus, projects must involve work in relation to the territory (understood in the broad sense).

Collaborative projects (between artists from the same or different disciplines) may be proposed. Depending on the case, dissemination of the work carried out may be considered with partner structures at the end of the residency.

The selected artists will be asked to participate in  paid public meetings organized by the art center as part of its mediation actions (cultural actions and educational actions) around their work and their residency project in Lindre-Basse.

LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKSHOP-RESIDENCE

The housing workshop is located in the heart of the village of Lindre-Basse (300 inhabitants), in the Lorraine Regional Natural Park and two kilometers from Dieuze (4000 inhabitants), in Moselle. The Lindre-Basse estate is a vast natural space formed around a pond, which develops fish farming and ornithological activity. It takes an hour to reach Metz and Strasbourg, around 40 minutes to Nancy. Please note that the residence is located half an hour by car from the Delme art center and therefore the resident does not live on a daily basis with the art center team.

With a surface area of approximately 70m2 and a ceiling height of 6m, the workshop is equipped with workbenches, tables, a water point and basic equipment which is supplemented, according to needs, with tools made available by the art center. It has a concrete floor, bay window, wide doors and a remote control lifting system. It is also equipped with a telephone line and high-speed Internet connection. A printer and scanner are available to residents.

The accommodation is made up of two bedrooms with two adjoining bathrooms, a mezzanine living room overlooking the workshop, a kitchen and a garden.

RESIDENCE PROGRAM TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The average effective duration is 10 weeks minimum spread over a period of 3 months.

- first residence: September - November 2024
- second residence: March - May 2025
- third residence: June - August 2025
(indicative dates, adjustments are possible)

To carry out his project, the artist receives a residency allowance of 2000 euros  and a  production budget of 2000 euros. The latter is only allocated in the case of a production carried out as part of the residency, or in connection with it.

A vehicle is obligatory, Lindre-Basse being relatively isolated and little public transport connects the village to cities such as Metz or Nancy.
