What is it all about?
Mica Moca is an explosion of possibilities
We open up space – both real and conceived:
to provoke new ways of doing and thinking
to challenge social norms and hierarchies
to mix cultures and clash genres
to bring people together in real time and space
We are artistically responsive to our environment and politically active to the situation
Let´s have a detailed look:
All started in Berlin. In summer 2011 an old safe factory was home for our artistic project
2015 Mica Moca was part of the Avignon festival presenting DAS HAUS
Our concept we set into reality in Berlin was a role model for Folkwang University Essen in 2015
We organised In between Festivals during European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016
Tempelhof Airport was opened up to artists, ideas and dinner gatherings in 2019, tree planting campaign included

Literature on the park bench
Live and free of charge in the Goethepark in Cottbus
Literature does not belong exclusively between book covers, nor is it banished to stowed rooms. Literature is a living work that surrounds and wants to be experienced by us –, ideally firsthand.
Walk on 04 and 05. September free, informal, alone or with friends through the Goethepark in Cottbus. You can expect exciting, startling or just beautiful stories from the mouth of 25 selected ( book )Authors! The regional legal regulations and requirements for containing the Corona pandemic existing on the two days of the event will of course be complied with.
This weekend, 28 red parasols will mark the places where literature can be experienced live and with free admission. Around the water fountain of the Amtsteich in Goethepark and in the adjacent Carl Blechen Park Authors read from their works. At the same time, you can read slots lasting around 15 minutes on one of the park benches for 4 hours on both days. people of all ages are cordially invited to get to know works and authors in a personal lecture. The event is free.
Brandenburg's focus
Under the motto Brandenburg's focus organized Mica Moca in cooperation with the city Cottbus and that Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art ( BLMK ) the reading festival Literature on the park bench, which for the first time in Summer 2019 was successfully realized in the Berlin Tiergarten with great resonance. In Cottbus the selected ones 28 writers either reside in Brandenburg or dedicate themselves to the state in their stories and texts.
Relaxed event location
The Goethepark in Cottbus is located in the immediate vicinity of the historic old town and is the oldest park in the city. It was created in 1895 as a city park on the once swampy site of the Mühleninsel and is bordered on three sides by the Spree. It is connected to the Carl Blechen Park to the east by the Blechensteg. The imposing diesel power plant, built in 1926/27, is located on the grounds of the Goethepark Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art ( BLMK ). The festival management will be based here during the weekend. In the event of an unfavorable weather situation, the BLMK is available as an alternative accommodation.
Take away stories
The Goethepark and the Carl Blechen Park become an open-air word garden. The delicate plants can also be watered: some authors will have their books with them and will be happy to sell them on request. All visitors will go home with at least one inspiring story – in their heads, hearts or in their pockets –. Promised!

Frederic Wake-Walker is artistic director of international touring company, Mahogany Opera Group and a freelance opera director and producer. He was awarded Best Director at the inaugural Oper! Awards in 2019.
Christophe Knoch was spokesperson for the Coalition of the Independent Scene in Berlin having worked previously for Christoph Schlingensief and various theaters and opera houses across Germany and Belgium (Düsseldorf, Dortmund Bielefeld, La Monnaie). He currently is involved in different projects developing and repurposing spaces for arts, such as Toplocentrala in Sophia, Bulgaria and Pickle Factory in Kalkutta, India.
Christian Anslinger holds a degree in political science and works as a project manager for cultural events. With his company corange, he offers the complete online package for companies, from website to image film to search engine optimization. His most recent project was the Festival Literatur auf der Parkbank (Literature on the park bench), which plays in public spaces.
Albrecht Sprenger is engaged in commercial and consulting activities, especially in the field of culture-related businesses. Self-employed in the field of culture, gastronomy and non-profit institutions with a focus on issues of culture and space, urban development and cultural promotion.
