Haugesund billedgalleri is the museum of fine arts in the region and the exhibition arena for the Haugesund Art Association.
The museum has a large collection of Norwegian art from the 1800s to the 2000s. Through funds and grants, new works are added every year. As well as international and national artists, local artists are well represented in the collection.
As well as a two story villa exhibiting art from the vast collection, the gallery also has five exhibition rooms, three of them with thematic exhibitions displaying the museum’s artworks, and two exhibition rooms house sales exhibitions of Norwegian and foreign contemporary art that present two artists every month.
The total building area is 2210 m², of which the exhibition area is 1000 m².
The museum is situated and overlooks picturesque Byparken, as well as having a museum shop, Children’s Art activities, and café.
