ARTZUID Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale
ARTZUID is an open-air Sculpture Biennale in Amsterdam's Southern district in The Netherlands. During this four-month event, amazing modern and contemporary figurative sculptures and art installations from all over the world will be installed in the district’s beautiful Berlage-designed avenues and on the Zuidas business district.
Free access to the sculptures 24/7. You can simply wander the streets and uncover the artistic surprises. Alternatively, book an official ARTZUID walking tour (available in Dutch and English): www.artzuid.nl/tours
Every edition, a curator is commissioned to make the sculpture selection based on the exhibition concept. Renowned curators have put together ARTZUID. Among them: Rudi Fuchs, Henk van Os, Jan Cremer, Michiel Romeyn & Roberto Meyer, Jhim Lamoree, Maarten Bertheux, Ralph Keuning and Jasper Krabbé.
According to research bureau Respons, ARTZUID is the largest free art event in the Netherlands with an average of 300,000 visitors. ARTZUID is a popular cultural outing among schools, where young people learn all about art in public space. Young and old enjoy the sculptures while walking. A visitor once said: “I love coming here because at ARTZUID I never feel alone”. And that is exactly what the foundation wants to achieve: a meeting place where the sculptures act as conversation pieces, as an opportunity to have a chat and exchange experiences. The boundless dedication and commitment of our hundred community volunteers who welcome visitors to the information pavilion on Minervalaan 1 during ARTZUID is of great importance here.
ARTZUID 2025 will take place from 17 May – 21 September on Apollolaan and Minervalaan Amsterdam.
