TheArtSquare - 34th edition

From August 29, Square Armand Steurs will host the 34th edition of its annual exhibition, The Art Square, an event bringing together around thirty Belgian and international sculptors. This free exhibition invites everyone to discover contemporary sculpture in the heart of an urban setting.

Since 1993, Square Armand Steurs has hosted the only annual exhibition of monumental sculpture in Brussels, the capital of Europe. For more than three decades, this event has become a must-see occasion for contemporary sculpture, transforming this listed Art Deco square into a veritable open-air museum.

For its 34th edition, the exhibition brings together around thirty Belgian and international sculptors, including several renowned artists from France, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries. The works interact with the perspectives, vegetation and architecture of the park, offering visitors a journey in which contemporary sculpture naturally blends into the urban landscape.

Beyond its artistic dimension, the exhibition has a genuine cultural and social mission: to make art accessible to everyone. Installed in the heart of public space, the sculptures reach an audience that does not necessarily visit museums or galleries. Every year, schools, families, local residents and groups of people with disabilities discover contemporary sculpture free of charge in an open, inclusive and welcoming environment.

Free to visit throughout the exhibition, The Art Square thus confirms its ambition to become a key showcase for contemporary sculpture in Brussels and a meeting place between heritage, urban landscape and artistic creation.
