ABRAHAM CRUZVILLEGAS
Thinking Like a Mountain – The Orobie Biennial
OPENING 4 OCTOBER 2025, 4 PM
UNTIL 18 JANUARY 2026
Â
This October, the fifth and final cycle of Thinking Like a Mountain - The Orobie Biennial will open: promoted by GAMeC - Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo under the artistic direction of Lorenzo Giusti, the project will once again actively engage the communities of the territory, together with the participation of international artists.
In Dalmine, the Mexican artist Abraham Cruzvillegas will create a site-specific installation in the outdoor areas of the Fondazione Dalmine, entitled An unstable and precarious self-portrait munching some traditional Fritos, sipping a couple of caballitos of Casa Dragones, after a busy journey with some dear friends, listening at the same time to the ‘Clair de lune’, performed by Menahem Pressler, and ‘Folie à Deux’, by Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Collaborating with local associations, the project will take the form of a participatory experience. The work, made from everyday objects and waste materials sourced locally, will explore—often ironically—the notions of progress linked to the industrial imaginary. On inauguration day, musician and performer Dudù Kouate will activate the sculpture.
