BAR DELUXE- MK KAEHNE

Conceptual artist MK KAEHNE’s exhibition BAR DELUXE, inspired by the MVM’s Fluxus - Donation Gino di Maggio collection, presents a selection of sculptures, objects and photographs from his extensive 'Bar' cycle.

Against the backdrop of Russian Constructivism and Moscow Conceptualism, KAEHNE questions the contemporary idea of art. While Duchamp declared the urinal a Readymade, thus denying its function, the Fluxists emphasised the absurdity of the everyday in their works.

KAEHNE, for his part, employs the grammar of surrealism, Dadaism and Fluxus, transforming the hyper-aesthetic functionality of his objects and sculptures into art.
