Thinking is air.
A hand, for me, is the pivot of communication. Not only do I gesticulate passionately while speaking, but every object around us has, in one way or another, been shaped by human hands.
Decisiveness is power.
In this making process, I have tried to let my hands speak as much as possible.
In the sculptures I am showing, which come from the MANUS series, the hand literally takes the place of the head. The hands, cut out from the flat surface, form characters in combination with the negative space from which they are drawn. I began to play with these characters, dressing them and connecting them with others. This led to dialogues and relationships—sometimes intimate, sometimes chattering, power-hungry, drunken, philosophical, chaotic, yet also reflective, questioning, and, of course, exploratory.
And now they are exhibited together. Do come and take a look; purchasing is allowed, but don't touch! ; )
