TierLEBEN
‘Nature is the teacher of art’. That is my motto and for the past 30 years I have specialized in representing animals as an autodidact sculptor. I started studying in museums, botanical gardens, zoos and animal sanctuaries, at home and abroad.
Animals are my main models and the materials I use are bronze and stone. I focus on movement, texture and a self-evident form. Birds and mammals in particular, inspire me to create images that have a strong outer form and at the same time, radiate an exciting inner strength. This combination creates powerful and vibrant art. I create positive images and looking at my sculptures is an experience that makes people aware of the animal, its existence and its presence and our relationship with it.
My motivation comes from the animal and from our connection to it. In my art, I want to show how much I love and admire animals and convey how special they are and how special we are. People are animals too, are they not?
In the future, I would like to delve even further into the world of material and subject. The ultimate aim is to find an exciting form and a language that is clear and convincing in every aspect. Nature and an awareness of our environment also play crucial roles in this journey.
In Galerie Classico in Berlin at the exhibition "TierLEBEN" I show a small represantation of my work over the past 30years, 17 sculptures in Bronze and Stone. Â
