sculpture network start'19 in The sculpture Workshop, The Danish National Museum, Kongens Lyngby:
This day offers a rare opportunity for a visit to The Scupture Workshop of the Danish National Museum at Brede Værk.Â
The Sculpture Workshop restores larger sculptures and other metal effects from the cultural history of denmark and abroad. Thus there are always many exciting sculptures and processes to be seen. Historical pieces are cleaned, renovated, repaired, patinated and given new life. Â
The director for Buildings and Artefacts Conservation, Conservator-restorer Eva Bøje Nielsen, will introduce the different lines of conservation and the cultural treasures held in the workshop at the moment. The workshop Conservation technician, Michel Malfilâtre will guide a tour of the premises and Photographer student at the National Museum, Jenny Sundby will document the day.
In the spacious halls an exhibition of contemporary sculpture is put together for Start'19Â in cooperation with the Danish Sculptor's Society. The 22Â exhibiting sculptors will give a short presentation of their works.Â
The forge will be lit and you can try your hand at forging iron. Simone Aaberg Kern will give a 3D performance.
