LIGHT\TRACE No. 2

LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 transforms light into a delicate, organic structure. Transparent fibre optics are hand-woven into a fine white glass fibre fabric, following two different directions across the sculptural body. As the lines intersect and curve around its organic form, they create an intricate network of light that appears to continue endlessly across the surface. The individually hand-worked fibre optics emit light with subtle variations in intensity, producing an almost shimmering effect. As the viewer moves around the sculpture, the relationship between light, material and form continuously changes. The work therefore never presents itself in quite the same way twice. Its organic silhouette evokes the movement of waves—at once powerful and gentle. The finely woven glass fibre fabric reinforces this impression, giving the sculpture an almost natural, cellular quality. Light seems to emerge from within the material rather than simply illuminate it, creating a sense of depth and quiet movement. Despite its physical presence and spatial scale, LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 creates a remarkably subtle atmosphere. It occupies the space without dominating it, functioning simultaneously as a sculptural presence and as an immersive field of light.
