Ground Bound’ is a performance installation exploring my struggle during the transition from aerial to ground-based artist. The grieving and injured figurative sculpture, crouches in the corner, facing the wall.
I choose to wear no costume to illustrate emotional vulnerability and to emphasize the contrast with my past colourful costumes.
The Ground Bound film is projected on the wall in the installation. It is an experimental piece in which I shadow my previous aerial career by using a diagonal piece of equipment. The translucent and shadow figures are superimposed to express the fragmented emotions of the performance. The rawness of the sound of the violin builds and grates to enhance my struggle.
