Carved sandstone, assembled on pebbles in cast base
This unusual block of sandstone with two distinctive sections of sediment colour inspired this sculpture. The earth colours and patterns on top resemble a limpet shell, while the white stone beneath suits the bones of the foot. For a limpet, known for its strong clinging foot, to lose its grip could be caused by the effect of climate change. The skeletal foot implies that we humans are not exempt from losing our footing on earth.
