‘Applause’ from the series ‘The Audience’ created in 2017 for the exhibition ‘Cupola’ commissioned by The Cartwright Hall Museum and Gallery, Bradford.
The exhibition 'Cupola' ran for 8 months as part of the events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of circus in 2018. The centre piece of the exhibition was my costumed performance characters and the audience was represented around the walls with panels of ears-listening, hands-clapping and faces-reacting. I matched the sculpture panels to the marble walls of the museum by incorporating marble filler into the resin so that the audience would look like part of the gallery. Â
