Wald Hotel Grindel

We are nature. In this Land Art concept, we have created an impression of our hotel room. We have a vignette that depicts the art, which is the nature we are immersed in. We see it here through a frame. We are invited to relax in the natural, whimsical, wooden, moss-lined chair. The tablecloth is made of woven ferns. The lamp is a bent twig, with a cored orange hanging as the bulb. In the background, a curled-up Swiss bear was uncovered, happily visiting from the outside. Here, we explore the idea of how much we take from nature to create our inner worlds—manufactured items drawn from the natural world. This is how we see the outside overlapping with the inside. We created this living room with a special view.

This Land Art project is an artist collaboration project with fellow artist Carla Rump. We completed this project on site at Grindelwald, Switzerland between the week of 16-20 June, 2025. It is on display until nature takes over.
