In the analysis of digital art, as a category of art, the implications in terms of aesthetic appreciation, vary widely. Due to the manner in which different kinds of digital art are numeric interpretations of an image, the presentation of a digitally created photograph, for example, may influence a loss of trust in the image and present an experience as uncertain or unreal to the viewer. Further, doubt may cause a loss of traditional dialogue between artist and audience, artwork and artistic process, in a way that is unique to digital art as opposed to the creative process involved in painting.
