The "Taygeta" sculptures are the signature series of the artist and were created to combine minimalist design with mythology and astronomy.
The Greek goddess Taygete whose name means 'long necked' is one of the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione. The daughters (Taygete Maia, Celaeno, Alcyone, Electra, Sterope and Merope) are mountain nymphs, also known as the Pleiades.
The long necked Taygeta Beta was created in Bronze in 2023 with a turquoise golden patina and was one of the center pieces of the exhibition "Aegean Inspiration" on the Greek island of Hydra in April 2024.
