Incorporating the weaving of large strips of found and painted corrugated cardboard I am using simple forms to create metaphors for the period we are living through with all its complicated intricacies.
I want to use color to illustrate the issues of our times such as not everything can be seen in black and white. Or can these sculptures represent the conflicts between peoples? Can the humor of these elegant and hulking shapes be a way in for discussion and storytelling? The title implies that we admit our fallibility and think about how we can open our minds. These are my hopes.
