Golden Butterfly Nest of Noah's Ark of the 21st Century

This golden nest was built up on the altar of the City Church in Mönchengladbach, Germany. 2000 butterflies crocheted by 75 people worldwide in a participatory way, were also set up and dismantled in a participatory manner.
It is the heart of my solo exhibition of textile butterfly objects.

Material: metal, original rescue blankets, tape, wire, 2000 hand crocheted butterflies

Gold: shows the high value of nature, here: butterflies or insects

Rescue blankets: underline the urgent need to save our nature, here at the example of butterflies.

The participatory approach: underlines that the "rescue" can only succeed together by all of us.

The entire installation wants to be understood as a hymn of praise to nature
